Mama’s Magical Moments

Meaning Behind Magical

By definition, magical means “beautiful or delightful in such a way as to seem removed from everyday life.” (Merriam-Webster Dictionary) Related words include “supernatural”, “remarkable”, and “extraordinary”. Images of Harry Potter or Sabrina the Teenage Witch or Houdini may flood your mind. These examples represent magic in a more physical, tangible way in the form of spells and optical illusions. To be clear, these can certainly feel magical as you experience them, not just represent magic. To me, the most magical feelings come through connection — with my husband, my child, my mom, a friend, a cashier, a waitress, my dog, but most importantly, myself. The greatest way to experience life is through bonding with those around you, hopefully in positive ways (like over Harry Potter even though I’m admittedly more of a Disney girl). Even during tough times, there is joy to be found or created. This is something I’ve struggled with for a long time and continue to struggle with but I know I can’t be the only one. Through this blog, I’m hoping to find more connection as well as find the joy or silver lining in some of my experiences. Not all moments are magical but I’m always looking for/creating “beauty” or “delight” in each of them.

Grateful to have connected with you ✨🧡
